About Me

Hi! I’m Julie

Hi there Mum! Welcome to the blog. I hope you find what you need here in this crazy world of motherhood.

So let’s start with a little about me : I’m a thirty-something Mum to one little boy. I live in the United Kingdom in a town in the West Midlands.

We have a house and in it lives me, the hubby, little man and our cat. Little Man was born in the July of 2013 -during a 30c heatwave. I’ll never forget the heat that year as it was unusually hot for here in the UK! (you know us Brits talk and relate everything to the weather!)

I also have a full-time job where I work outside of the home Monday-Friday 8.30am-4.30pm and this blog on the side – I must be mad, like I’m not busy enough right?

There’s also an important point about me I’d like you all to know. I was diagnosed with Postpartum Depression when Little Man was 18 months old.

The Beginning Of Mummy It’s OK

Mummy It’s OK was started back in October 2015. During my battle with Postpartum Depression.

It started as Postpartum Depression Blog so I could provide others with information on the different forms of Maternal Mental Illness along with real life stories to inspire those in need.

I hope to provide you with a safe community here to find the help and support you need to get you through this tough time.

There’s no need to suffer. There are many of us out there who’ve been on our own PND/PPD Journey and recovered. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Here at Mummy It’s OK I want every mother and baby to thrive.

Mummy It’s OK Evolved In To So Much More

As I have recovered I have since branched out into all aspects of mummy life here at Mummy It’s OK.

If you love funny stories about life with children and all things mum related you’ll fit in great here as my writings will often include being a first-time-mum, the demands on mums to be perfect and have it all, unrealistic expectations and other mums judgements – as well as our own.

Also of course there will be a lighter tone to some of my posts regarding mum life and toddler life. After all we’re mums and like to read about this sort of thing!

So now that you know a little about me, come join me so I can learn a little about YOU.

Mummy It’s OK – You’re Doing Great!
