Festive Easter Bunny Bolognese: A Fun and Delicious Holiday Twist
The brightest holiday of the year, Easter, is fast approaching! It’s the perfect time to surprise your loved ones with special treats that will create a warm, cozy atmosphere. This year, why not serve up a festive twist on the classic spaghetti Bolognese? Our version, shaped like a cute Easter bunny, adds a touch of holiday cheer to the familiar flavors of the beloved dish.

The rich, savory Bolognese sauce, made with tender minced meat and a hint of smoky bacon, pairs perfectly with delicate spaghetti and a savory tomato base. When arranged into the shape of an Easter bunny, this dish transforms into something truly festive. Best of all, you don’t need to be a seasoned chef to pull it off—just a little creativity and effort. The bunny’s face and paws are made from the spaghetti, while the eyes are olives, and the nose is a heart-shaped slice of bologna.
This whimsical dish is great for a family Easter dinner or even a children’s party. You can get the little ones involved in decorating their own bunny-shaped plates for extra fun!
Ingredients:
- 10 oz. minced meat
- 3 oz. bacon
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp. tomato paste
- 8 oz. spaghetti
- 3 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 olives for eyes
- 1-2 tomatoes
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 tsp. peppercorns
- 1 slice of bologna (for the nose)
- 1/2 tsp. coriander
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
- Cooked carrots, green peas, and quail eggs for garnish (optional)
- Salt to taste

Instructions:
- Prepare the Sauce: Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.

2. In a frying pan, heat the olive oil and add the chopped bacon, onion, and garlic. Sauté for 3 minutes. Add the minced meat and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces with a spatula.

3. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, ½ to 2/3 cup of boiling water, salt, and spices. Cover the pan and simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce should thicken and become uniform.

4. While the sauce is cooking, boil the spaghetti. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan, then add salt, bay leaf, peppercorns, and spaghetti. Cook according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the spaghetti and toss with a tablespoon of olive oil.
5. Assemble the Bunny: On a plate, arrange the spaghetti into the shape of a bunny’s face and paws. Use the olives for the eyes and a slice of bologna for the nose. You can even add little vermicelli whiskers for fun.

6. Pour the hot Bolognese sauce over the spaghetti bunny and garnish with boiled quail egg halves, green peas, cooked carrots, and bologna hearts for added decoration.

Your adorable Easter Bunny Bolognese is ready to serve! Enjoy this festive dish with your family and have a wonderful Easter!
